    This 14-page referenced article, published in Oct. 2002, covers many of the questions and concerns one may have in trying to quit smoking, including why its so hard to quit, help for cravings and tough situations, medicines and methods, and dealing with weight gain and stress.

    Nicotine Anonymous
    Nicotine Anonymous is a Non-Profit 12 Step Fellowship of men and women helping each other live nicotine-free lives. Nicotine Anonymous welcomes all those seeking freedom from nicotine addiction, including those using cessation programs and nicotine withdrawal aids. It offers group support and recovery using the 12 Steps as adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous. The web site offers numerous pamphlets, including literature in five or more languages. Its searchable listing of meeting locations includes several sites in Vermont.

    This site contains the popular “You Can Quit Smoking” guide (under “How to Quit”), as well as a wealth of other pamphlets, reports, tip sheets, news, and online toolkits.
