PDA Resources

These PDA programs must be installed via computers that are on the UVM or FAHC computer networks. All programs are available for both PalmOS and PocketPC unless otherwise indicated.

Clinical Tools

  • Dynamed. Evidence-based summaries of disease topics. Send an email if you have trouble obtaining a serial number.

  • MobileMICROMEDEX Click on the MICROMEDEX Healthcare Series button, then click on the Handheld PDA tab and follow the directions. Micromedex provides drug and disease information, and clinical calculators.

  • Clinical Pharmacology (UVM users only) Click on Clinical Pharmacology OnHand download. The instructions call for a username and password, but you don't need one as long as you're installing from a computer on the UVM network.

  • Access Medicine Diagnosaurus differential diagnosis tool.

Journals

  • Tables of contents through HighWire Press Get a free account, then go to My Highwire and create PDA channels.

Textbooks

  • AccessMedicine allows you to identify the portion of the textbook that you would like to store on your PDA. Textbooks include Harrison's, Hurst's the Heart, Williams Obstetrics and many others. Bring up the page you want to download and click on the red 'Download for PDA' arrow on the right.
